The first step in any poker game is to deal out a pack of cards. Each player is dealt five cards. Then, a betting round begins. Each player can check, call, raise, or fold. If a player’s hand doesn’t match the current pot, he can’t make a bet until he matches the amount of the previous bet. This allows the other players to determine the quality of your hand, and also gives you something to chase.

Once all the players have been dealt five cards, a betting round takes place. After the first round, each player can bet, call, raise, or fold. The players can also pass on the bet. When they do, the player on the left will have to “drop” their bet, or remove it from the pot.

After the second round of betting, the remaining players are dealt one more card. If the player’s hand is tied, he will have to split the pot with the other player.
